This piece is an example of the situation I faced regularly - a request for a quick turnaround piece of PoS content that needed 3D work but came with no 3D assets as the handsets were still unreleased! This often called for the use of a 2.5D approach - building proxy handsets from photo assets.
Here’s an example of a more instructional piece based on functionality and features rather than product benefits.
BACKGROUND:
Featured here are examples of the hundreds of pieces of retail content I was responsible for, for Sony Mobile internationally.
The purpose of this content is to effectively demo the product and bolster brand presence in-store. The team I ran consistently achieved both by simplifying complex feature stories in smart ways, and by designing a process that let us deliver highly polished visuals in very short timeframes.
This kept Sony Mobile looking sexy in-store, whilst minimising both cost and turnaround times.
