BACKGROUND:
For their annual live youth event ‘Barbican Box’ (held in the Barbican’s 2000 seater main hall), the Barbican’s Creative Learning team wanted some hero content to ‘wrap’ the event and stimulate audiences between performances.

As this was a youth event, my top priority was that voice of the young participants to really shone through. I created a set of films that introduced the audience to each of the 8 participating schools, one by one. The focus was on sharing the thoughts and opinions of the young participants, showcasing their opinions on the theme of the night. To ensure this was authentic, I got the young people to self-record their contributions, and then wrapped them in a rich, visually stimulating graphic packaging style I developed for the event.

Attendees fed back that they were blown away by the richness of the youth presence, and the young performers and Barbican team absolutely loved the premium and complete feel the visuals gave the event.
